Bootleg Gold’s Live Sessions offers an unbelievable grand finale with a prevalent a capella cover from Perpetuum Jazille!

It’s Live Sessions on Bootleg Gold once again, this time for the month of January – and to give you a sneak-peek of what’s happening today, here’s what to expect! You’ll be getting those front row seats to the best concerts of our favorite rock bands from the 70s, 80s, and 90s and a few powerhouses from the early 2000s.

Anticipate BTO, Deep Purple and Aerosmith to kick off the fête on the first hour while The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and The Doors start you up on the second hour with their amazing set. But there’s a lot more dynamite lined up to detonate this evening’s bomb including a reggae rock set to give the show a bit of a twist but here’s what’s special…

While Marko and I, Martha T deliberated on our crash track, we came across a fabulous thought to end, not only the gig, but the month on a positive note. So we chose a very touching a capella cover done in 2009 by the Slovenian musical group Perpetuum Jazille.

Here’s the thing though, they aren’t a rock band – on the contrary, they’re actually a choir consisting of male and female singers that perform a capellas with Sašo Vrabič as vocal percussionist. This group was originally formed in 1983 as Gaudeamus Chamber Choir and founded by Marko Tiran. They perform a variety of music genres including bossa, swing, gospel, funk and pop, however they are best known for their cover of Toto’s Africa which has received over 18 million views over YouTube.

And for this reason, we believed it would be a warmhearted windup for our show today, remembering the sad reality of Africa and the fight against poverty to bring their children, their women and their people some light, hope and specially opportunity!

Be with us this evening on Y101 Always First, and listen to Open Season when Marko and I, Martha T bring you the only rock experience on Bootleg Gold…

Get the habit!
