It looks like the singer will have a part in future in Marvel movies.
It’s been reported that Miley Cyrus secretly filmed an appearance in the movie. Speaking to BuzzFeed, director James Gunn revealed that he cast the singer as the voice of Mainframe, an android that first appeared in Marvel’s A-Next series in 1999.
Gunn says his decision to cast Cyrus came when he became fond of the singer’s “likable” voice while watching her judge in the competition show The Voice.
‘I was admiring the tone of Miley Cyrus’s voice’, he said. ‘I find her funny and likable and sweet. I liked that she cared about the contestants. So I was like, I think she would be a funny person to have as a voice [in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2]. So we contacted her, and she said yes.”
Gunn also said that Miley recorded her lines in an hour at most. He said, ‘She came in [like a wrecking ball, presumably] and recorded, and she was a delight to work with.’
The Guardians of the Galaxy director also hinted she could make a fuller return in future films.
‘She knows that there’s a chance that character may go on and become a bigger thing’, he teased.
‘That’s a possibility.’
