As February comes to a close, let us look forward to what March will bring us. Here are some exciting movies that will be out in the following month.
A Wrinkle in Time (March 7)
This family Disney sci-fi adventure film is an adaptation of the popular 60’s novel A Wrinkle in Time written by Madeleine L’Engle. It tells the story of 13-year old Meg Murry, a seemingly troublesome girl. After learning her scientist father is being held captive on a distant planet deep in an evil universe, Meg must work with her highly intelligent younger brother, her new friends, and three astral beings (played by Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling), to save him.
Tomb Raider (March 15)
The 2018 Tomb Raider will be a reboot of the popular Tomb Raider film series in the early to mid-2000’s. Based on the 2013 Tomb Raider video game reboot of the classic adventure game series back in the 90’s, this movie adaptation of Raider tells the story of Lara Croft (played by Alicia Vikander in this version), the fiercely independent daughter of a missing adventurer, who must push herself beyond her limits when she finds herself on the island where her father her disappeared.
Ready Player One (March 31)
Directed by Steven Spielberg, this science fiction action flick based on the 2011 novel of the same name, tells the story of teenager Wade Watts and his adventures in the virtual reality game world called the OASIS. Set in the dystopia of the year 2044, the crux of the movie starts when the creator of the OASIS dies. He releases a video in which he challenges all OASIS users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune. Wade Watts finds the first clue and starts a race for the Egg along with other hostile competitors.
