As irony would call it, the policeman of the group was arrested by real policemen in March 2006. Police stopped his car and found cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He pleaded no contest on July six years ago today and was sentenced to three years probation after agreeing to enter a drug treatment program.

It was reported that when Willis was arrested in San Francisco for the drug possession, he gave officers a fake name. They didn't know who he was until Willis was fingerprinted.

Willis was also charged with abuse a few months before when his a woman claiming to be his girlfriend told police that she had been choked and threatened with a knife by Willis. The woman told officers that Willis had been abusive and was just recently out on bail on the assault charge.

In 2015, Victor Willis came back to the music industry and debuted a solo album, Solo Man.

Willis co-wrote such hits as YMCA and In the Navy during his time in the Village People during the 70s.
