Black Ivory Coffee

The world’s most expensive coffee uses beans ingested by elephants!

Here’s something odd for coffee lovers out there. There’s a rare coffee in Thailand where its beans are plucked out from elephant dungs.

The Black Ivory Coffee is the world’s rarest and most expensive coffee. For $1,100 per kilogram (at least P54,000/kg), you can expect a smooth, full taste and perhaps a slight earthy hint of elephant droppings. Taking ten years to develop in three countries, the finest Arabica coffee cherries then gets naturally refined by elephants during their indigestion.

If you plan to get a taste of the bizarre coffee, then you should know that it’s only reserved for top five star hotels. However, a small quantity of the Black Ivory Coffee is on offer from time to time in and around Thailand.
