John Legend and Kelly Clarkson are breathing new life into the controversial Christmas classic “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” after Legend teamed up with Natasha Rothwell from HBO’s Insecure.

The EGOT winner announced on October 28 that he's releasing A Legendary Christmas: The Deluxe Edition on November 8 via Columbia Records, updating his holiday album first released in October 2018. The 18-track LP delivers four original recordings of holiday classics, including the 2019 redo of "Baby, It's Cold Outside."

The lyrical conversation between the two The Voice coaches includes these lyrics, according to a press release: “I really can’t stay (Baby it’s cold outside)/ I’ve gotta go away (I can call you a ride)/ This evening has been (So glad that you dropped in)/ So very nice (Time spent with you is paradise)/ My mother will start to worry (I’ll call a car and tell ‘em to hurry).”

Additional album details include Legend’s three freshly minted tracks “This Christmas,” “My Favorite Things” and “Christmas in New Orleans.”
