Funny how it is that when we used to be young (in school) we always dreamed to be someone we knew when we'd grow up. A doctor, pilot, nurse, singer, dancer, and yes a princess! (I remember someone's sister wrote that down).
Being from a school where music was a part of everyday life and musicians were worshipped like Demi gods, most students from my school were successful enough to make it into the music scene. A good example are Urbandub's frontman Gabby and Lorenzo of the Ambassadors, not to brag but Don Bosco does produce a lot of good bands / artists.
This brings us to why this article was written, out of the blue I found out that one of my batch mate Archie has also been doing well in the local music scene with his band Docudrama. The band was conceived late in 2007 and since their inception, 5 bassists, 4 guitarists, 2 drummers and 1 vocals came and left the band. Only Archie is the original member left and said its a band composed of family friends, then beer and girlfriends came into the picture after which it became more about beer and less music which is pretty much how bands live by right? Now, at present Archie is on vocals and guitar, Xi Rho Romarate on bass, John Calvaro on guitar and Milton Hocon on drums.
Having derived a very unique name, Docudrama came about from "Docu" of course meaning documentation of their individual or collective experiences and "Drama" means tragic and hopelessly addicted to needs that can never be theirs. They've been pretty much all over the country with gigs taking them to Davao, Dipologand Cagayan down the southern part of the Philippines and to Laguna and Manila up north. They have been playing at The Outpost which is a haven for local bands making it big in the music scene. They've made quite a number of compositions which is a good thing in terms of growth and developing skills rather than just doing cover songs.
