A few days ago we reported that Eddie Murphy the supposedly host for the Academy Awards this February 2012 after Ratner quit as the producer of the show where the awards was surely in dire need of someone with immense charisma and character to save it...
Billy Crystal comes to the rescue! The veteran actor who has hosted the Oscars eight times emerged as the popular choice to replace Murphy hours after Eddie followed suit with Brett Ratner's departure. Crystal's last hosting of the awards was in 2003 and in a tweet he joked about doing the Oscars yet again so the young woman at the pharmacy will stop asking his name when he picks up his prescriptions.
All the is required is the official statement from the awards body to name him the host of the 84th Oscars after making an appearance on the 2011 telecast presenting a tribute to Bob Hope. Earlier during the year, Crystal had already been feeling "itchy" after his cameo appearance at the 83rd Oscars and was prepared to consider a return to the Oscars stage as host which now has become a reality. We'd be sure to expect another stellar performance by Billy Crystal in next years Oscars especially the numbers or skits he will be enacting.
