 We came to know Christina Aguilera way back in the 90's as one of the successful "mouse-keeters" from Disney together with Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.
From her first video "Genie in a bottle" we saw how she also gave Britney Spears a good run for her money. Fast forward to today, she's divorced with one child and has lost all the single appeal she had... her body. She is returning to NBC’s singing competition The Voice for another season to coach hopeful singing contestants. Speaking with the Television Critics Association, she also shared the confidence she hopes to impart in young female singers. From her Disney years to teen pop and motherhood, Aguilera’s body has changed and she loves what she looks like today.
She had been on the receiving end of attacks about the increase in her weight / size over the years but she simply shot back to such comments by saying that she has a boyfriend that loves her body, she loves her body, her son is healthy and happy, that’s all that matters. Being a female in this business, she basically knew what she'd be in for. She knew she'd be going under the microscope and that’s what she signed up to do. She projected herself to be a strong, powerful, very confident woman.
Aguilera believes it’s tougher for women in the spotlight, and she has lived through it. But it also gives them a chance to be stronger. She still remains very confident of her body. And that she think her videos over the years have spoken to that being no stranger to being very comfortable in her own skin to take risks, to take those chances, whether it be crazy cotton candy hair or interesting theatrical makeup, adding those theatrics on stage and things like that. Women she claims are definitely under a microscope and under massive scrutiny. She hasn't been really doing well after the her divorce which might explain the sudden change in appearances, depression as we all know does lead to people either starving or in this case stuffing themselves. This can be substantiated with her past bad publicity of being totally drunk to PDA's for everyone to see aside from rubbing elbows with her co-hosts at The Voice but the show must go on and Christina shows no sign of backing out. Just don't let her do Genie in a Bottle ever again since it would surely upset those who are weak minded!
