If you've been to almost all of the places to hang out and dine at or you're new to Cebu with the keen gastronomical gusto of good food thats not going to burn a hole in your pants or purse then you might be interested in checking out Dong Juan's. It started out with a single branch right in Guadalupe with no fancy signs or flashy advertising but simply by word of mouth from faithful patrons who just can't stop coming back for more.
They have now branched out to other places in the city and a few weeks back I had the chance to try out their branch in Mabolo, it was the usual weekday with some occasional rains but it was pretty surprising to know that after an hour or so the place was already packed with patrons. I believe their approach of not having a huge place is part of the success of the business, they don't really have that wide spacious feel like most places do but it is more cozy and well laid out.
Their menu would range from burgers, pizzas, salads, calamaris and a whole lot more choices. But the best part is that it does not cost a fortune to eat there, a cozy dinner for 2 or a family of 4 would only set you back less than a thousand pesos. So if you feel that eating at the mall is too "crowded" then you now have an option to avoid the constant rush making you sometimes feel of eating in a fast food chain.
