It is well into the month of November 2011 and most b-ball fanatics are joyous this time of the year since the NBA season would be well underway. But sad to say, as the lockout still is in effect for the second time in history (1998-1999 season was the last time the NBA lost regular-season games due to a work stoppage. That season did not begin until February 6, 1999 and was reduced to 50 games). Most of us are left high and dry as regular-season games have been lost due to a work stoppage.
The first two weeks of the 2011-2012 NBA season are the latest casualty of the NBA lockout. After approximately 12 hours of negotiations last October 9 and October 10, the NBA and National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) were unable to strike a deal in time to save opening night, which was scheduled for November 1. As the negotiations are dragging with lawsuits in the works from both sides, a particular individual has spoken out about his personal opinion in the whole fiasco and is pointing his finger on one NBA legend. Metta World Peace (formerly Ron Artest) said his childhood hero Michael Jordan left the NBA players high and dry in the never-ending lockout drama by forgetting he was once one of them and acting like every other stubborn owner.
Jordan mind you is currently the Charlotte Bobcats' big cheese and is among a group of NBA owners who are taking a hard line with the players in the lockout negotiations. According to MWP, the players don't hate Jordan it's just they just feel like he didn't support the players when they needed him the most. In the NBA it's big money indeed and if Jordan is now playing with the big boys therefore he definitely has some huge pockets to fill compared to simply playing the game.
