The Sinulog Foundation Inc. has given word that it is 100% ready for this years Sinulog festivities. SFI Executive Director Ricky Ballesteros had shared that all preparations are complete including the stage for the grand performances.
The activities for this years Sinulog will revolve around the theme "Cebu, City of Culture." The Grand production will feature a 30 minute presentation by a cast numbering 600 with a budget of Php35-40mil. The opening and grand finale will be attended by dance troupes from different schools in the city who will be wearing the different ASEAN national costumes wherein gymnasts, cheer dances, and members of the dance sport team Cebu City will perform as well together with Anna Fegi, Maria Donna as well as artists from Hong Kong Disneyland. There are 17 delegations each for the Sinulog sa Dakbayan and Sinulog sa Lalawigan with 12 delegations from outside Cebu who have confirmed their attendance so far.
Something to be excited as well is the new song composed by Gani Villarojo which will be performed by winners of the Sinulog Idol at the grand presentation. Creations of world-famous Cebuanos Kenneth Cobonpue and Monique Lhuillier will also be featured. The Sinulog photo contest has also drawn a huge number of participants which now number 500+ registrants as of December 2011 and just like the year before the number of participants would be limited to 2000 only but boasts of the biggest prize of P100,000 to the grand prize winner.
With the momentum building up, the excitement and anticipation in the air surely cannot be hidden anymore as we countdown the days before Sinulog 2012!
