Once again I had the opportunity to get out and go around town to explore what is new in Cebu.
This time I was taken by some friends to Danasan Eco Adventure which is the brainchild of a Cebuano family, who had been trying for years to come up with the best way to make use of their property. The idea of building an adventure park on this particular property took shape during one exciting escapade while on a trip in another part of the world. First planned was as a simple zip line and mini recreation center which eventually had blossomed into a full-blown adventure and nature park. They had plenty of room to explore and utilize, so they then offered more activities for people to enjoy. The Danasan Eco Adventure Park is located in Barangay Danasan (a good hour away from Danao City proper, Danasan Eco Adventure Park boasts of 133 hectares of beautiful outdoors. The Park has three caves, a waterfall with three astounding drops, several fresh water springs, and a man-made lake. It also has a wide range of eco-friendly activities that will surely satisfy one’s thirst for adventure. All Park facilities are fully environment-friendly and were carefully planned so as not to cause any harm to the natural beauty of the environment. The Park leverages on nature’s splendor after all.
As the curious person that I am, always feeling the urge to try new things in life while I still can. I attempted to do well at a friendly bet of being able to master wake boarding in a short amount of time (first ever wake boarding facility in the Visayas region). After drinking a few gallons of water as well as number falls and mishaps I was lucky enough to actually ride the board for a full 20 seconds which felt good. Aside from wake boarding they also have trekking, horse back riding, rappelling, as well a zip line to complete every adrenalin junkies dream of the perfect fix!
A day is not enough to completely immerse in the adventures the place has to offer that is why staying for a day or two in the available cottages is a definite must. Sadly for me I only had half a day to spare but the good news is I am already planning my next visit back to Danasan Eco Park to completely waste my energy on the fun adventures they have for me to greedily enjoy.
