The Sinulog Foundation Inc. (SFI) is organizing a street fair annually to help traders showcase their products and to generate income for the foundation. SFI’s Executive Director Ricky Ballesteros said the purpose of having a street fair is to let vendors from all over the country expose their products. The street fair runs from December 1, 2011 to January 31, 2012. It started back in 1994 in time for the Palarong Pambansa, which was held in Cebu City.
Ballesteros said the foundation has leased stalls to traders at P30,000 to P35,000 each for two months. He added the street fair is also regularly organized for the foundation to generate income and to raise funds for the Sinulog activities. He said the SFI collected around 1.8 million in stall rental for last year’s Sinulog. This year, Ballesteros said they are hoping to collect a net income of P800,000 to P1 million. Earnings generated from the rentals will be used for next year’s Sinulog celebration.
