Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa had held its Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the main lobby and unlike past years this season saw the lighting of not just one, but five trees!
The highlight of the ceremony was the opening of the resort's Christmas Shopping Village where guests and locals alike can check off their Christmas list as they shop from Avatar, Carmen's Linen, Gelato Eliseo, Italkarat, Portrait Artist Lino Venzal, Premium Concepts, Susings Guitars, Toys at Work and Vanafi.
Freshly baked Christmas goodies from the resort's kitchens are also available from their Gingerbread House. An added attraction this year is the Sparkling Hope Tree created by jeweler Vanafi which is bedecked with jewelry and semi-precious stones. Every purchase of a Sparkling Hope Card worth P200 entitles the buyer to guess the tree's value and one can buy as many cards as they want. The top three winners whose estimates come close to the actual amount will each be rewarded a two-night stay in the resort's suites!
Winners will be chosen on the 31st and the announcement will be made at the resort’s New Year’s Eve party. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the ministries of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
