Every January, aside from the Sinulog festival that we Cebuanos celebrate. We also celebrate the Miss Cebu beauty pageant that showcases the most radiant Cebuanas in Cebu. For this year's contestant who are all vying for the chance to be crowned as Miss Cebu 2012 and be part of the history of our fair city's stellar beauties.
The search officially began in November with a press presentation of the 2012 candidates and a handful of Nursing and Mass Comm students and graduates have graced this years event. Last year's winner Mia Zeeba Ali Faridoon was a UP Cebu MassCom major herself and 2 of the contestants this year are UP MassCom graduates. The media then took turns in asking the 12 candidates questions during the open forum on different issues or topics. As part of every Miss Cebu pageant, there are pre-pageant activities that await the finalists including personality development workshops, public speaking seminars, community outreach activities, cultural tours and media appearances. Prepared by the Cebu City Tourism Commission and the Cebu City Tourism Foundation, Inc. to provide the contestants with the adequate skills and understanding of Cebu's culture and heritage as to become effective and genuine Cebuana ambassadors to the world.
The Coronation night will be held this coming January 11, 2012 at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Hotel. To those who still want to vote for their favorite candidates you can go to www.cebucitytourism.com/misscebu2012 to pick your choice.
