For those mixed martial arts followers, they will once again witness an action-packed event with the staging of the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) Cebu 7 on January 13, 2012 at the Cebu International Convention Center. Titled "Dominate" the upcoming MMA bout features 2 championship fights (Visayas) and a superfight between Eduard "The Landslide" Folayang and Brazilian Muay Thai champion Wadson Teixeira.
DEFTAC-Bacolod’s Victor "The Gladiator" Torre will also defend his Visayan pinweight title against Cebu YawYan Ardigma’s Geronimo Etac, while Visayan bantamweight champion Rex de Lara of Team Tinagan will tackle the Lapu-Lapu City-based SELDEF top fighter Carry Bullos.
Torre tallied four wins in his URCC career, so far. He got his belt at the expense of Mark Revalde in the URCC-Cebu 6 early this year via submission.
Etac, on the other hand, was last seen in the URCC-5 with a tap out victory against Wilfredo Cajurao, Jr.
Bullos, for his part, hopes to bounce back from a heart-breaking loss to Leonard Delarmino during the URCC-Cebu 6. Bullos was dominating the early part of the match until Delarmino found the opportunity to beat the Cebuano well-rounded fighter.
