Secret Fresh follows up with another much awaited art toy release with New York-based Filipino artist Paulo Vinluan’s Dog Toy at the Ground Level of RONAC Art Center Ortigas Ave., Greenhills San Juan, Metro Manila, Philippines on Sunday January 29, 2012.
Dog Toy is based on his recurring dog character, a dark suited dog-man in allegorical tableaus depicting comically sinister messages of what power and value means in modern society, and the pursuit of which that necessitates such cloak of betrayal as “wolves in sheep’s clothing”.
This would be Vinluan’s 1st limited edition toy with Secret Fresh. His toy release on January 29 would be accompanied with an exhibit of prints and drawings at Secret Fresh.
Paulo Vinluan was born in New York and was raised in the Philippines. In 2003, he earned his BFA in Painting graduating cum laude from The College of Fine Arts, University of the Philippines, Diliman. His work has been exhibited in the Philippines, as well as Kuala Lumpur, Los Angeles and Singapore. He recently held a two-person show at Finale Art File, Makati.
Other creative collaborative projects of his in the past include screen prints on clothing with Joey Samson and hand painted shoes for Tenorio Manila. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn New York.
