Though it came as a surprise to everyone who watched the just concluded match between Pacquiao and Marquez after 12 rounds the decision was not as what everyone had expected.
To benefit those who hadn't had a chance to watch the fight. Most who came to know and love Pacquiao's tenacity and aggressiveness was in for a shock when the match had evolved into a more cerebral game for Pacquiao who was seemingly more cautious with Marquez throwning almost all of the punches hitting Pacquiao squarely. Out of 12 rounds there wer only few Pacquiao clearly dominated from my point of view. But in all fairness to out champ he did land a lot of precise punches which reflected on Marquez's face, I'm no expert but it's quite true that judges ringside see more than what we see abit further or on pay per view. However controversial it may be, we emerged as the victors but in all honestly it was not a win that we all had expected but a win is a win. Now we move on to whats coming, that trilogy is done and as the we get back to our normal lives (after staying frozen for a good 30mins or more) we shoul bask in this good fortune and honor Pacquiao has brought us that shines on us as a nation.
*But for those who still doubt if the fight was fair or controversy still abounds the results, here is the tale of the tape:
Pacquiao threw 578 punches connecting 176 of them compared to Marquez's 436 with 138 connecting.
Pacquiao threw 304 jabs connecting 59 while Marquez threw 182 with 38 connecting.
Pacquiao threw 274 power punches connecting 117 while Marquez only threw 254 with 100 connecting.
