
If you are an avid hiker as well as a nudist then you would've been right at home in Switzerland until just recently their federal court had ruled in favor of local authorities who can impose a fine on people hiking in naked in the Alps.
It comes after the court threw an appeal from a man who was fined after hiking with only his birthday suit past by a family picnic area. This happened in the eastern region of Appenzell which is a deeply devout and conservative part of Switzerland. Safe to say the Swiss still has no law against public nudity but it does however have a law against public indecency. Increasing in popularity in Switzerland, naked hiking is now a popular pastime but the man who was fined 100 Swiss francs unfortunately past by a family with small children at a picnic area and a Christian rehabilitation center for drug users in Appenzell which had only granted women the right to vote in 1990. So for those who had the inclination of baring it all in the Swiss Alps, you may have to change your travel plans to another country who are more "naked-hiker friendly".
