Spreading the Christmas cheers was on George Lucas' mind when the Star Wars creator gave permission to use his wookie creation Chewbacca in an upcoming Christmas episode on Glee.
Matthew Morrison, who directed the festive special, reveals not just anyone can play Han Solo's hairy friend and TV producers needed Lucas' blessing to contact the movie mogul's chosen Chewie. Just like Ronald McDonald of McDonald's who can't just be portrayed by anyone unless professionally trained (only 2 such persons supposedly exist in Cebu). Morrison, who also plays teacher Will Schuester on the hit show, said Lucas gave them Chewbacca who can officially be portrayed or played by one person who has been doing it for 12 years and he lives in northern California; so they flew him in for the Christmas special. Now if they can only get Lady Gaga to star opposite Chewy so he can maul her...
