Go figure.
To start things off, Happy New Year to everyone! As we enter 2012, we now look forward to what we should expect in the coming year.
There are a lot of things to consider, on one hand our nation has a generally positive outlook for this year as per a survey done. The past year was filled with yet another list of unforgettable and memorable events, either life changing or game changing depending on ones perceptions. We usually find time listening to famous personalities giving their own views for the new year, and in some cases listen to fortune-tellers give us their insights on what would happen in the coming year. Luckily, none of them happen to be Mayans who are more "doomsday" inclined than giving a bright outlook.
One thing that catches us redhanded is the infamous New Years Resolution/s, the more formal way of promising to do or not to do something in the coming year. Though some see it as pure nonsense, it is a long standing tradition amongst cultures not just in the Philippines. I for one am not to keen about making resolution/s but rather do the deed as much as possible without having to give much hoo-ha.
We often ask why there is so much emphasis given the last day of every year? None other is as eagerly awaited besides the local teleserye that most households hold their breath in anticipation. Probably because no other night ends in such grand or with a bang (literally). Firecrackers, still explode all around you (which is a measurement of how things are going financially (no money = less fireworks). As fireworks light up the sky, we gasp and gape in childlike wonder, disregarding the clean up the next morning.
In closing, it is each and every ones wish that we all move on and prosper as another year dawns on us.
