Jay-Z's 40/40 Club in New York City was shut down following a health code inspection that uncovered a slew of violations. The violations was first reported by the NY Post, which range from hot food being left out on the counter to a refrigerator being kept at 60° rather than the required 41° which to a worker would seem like mixing salsa with his bare hands!
It was merely a case of bad luck that led to Jay-Z's 40/40 Club racking up a slew of health code violations a rep for the club said after the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene cited the club big time last week for a litany of violations which included several different instances of food being stored at improper temperatures.
But Ron Berkowitz, a rep for the club, reported that the motor in one of the refrigerators blew just moments before the health inspector arrived causing the temperature in the fridge to rise. Berkowtiz says the staff identified the problem immediately and had no intention of serving the food from that fridge. The fridge was then fixed by noon the next day and the club was permitted to re-open and luckily the club lost no business as a result of the issue and their health code grade is currently pending review.
This was sure enough to throw a wrench in Jay-Z's good mood after celebrating the arrival of his baby girl Blue Ivy but who knowing the Rap Mogul, his mood is definitely not dampened by the incident.
