In the dawn og reality Tv shows, more and more networks are struggling to find out what is the best way to capitalize on getting more viewerships and revenues.
These networks would stop at nothing short of publicly humiliating those they employ just to get ahead of the race. Now, one long time running reality show is finally crossing the line that divides good taste to bad taste of programming.
The world may never see "Fear Factor" contestants chugging donkey semen if corporate heads at NBC and its parent company Comcast are seriously having 11th hour talks about pulling the episode that features the challenge. Contestants on the show (season) was shot last summer and one of the so-called challenges is to drink a glass of donkey semen (and one of urine) in which case several of the contestants did.
Some executives have been getting cold feet, and discussions were ongoing whether to air the episode. No word on their exact concerns, but an educated guess would be "taste". The show in the past had pretty wild dares for contestants to do and who would not risk missing out on a few thousand $$$ and get some exposure on Tv right? But perhaps this particular stunt could not be classified as good programming, not even falling under uniquely interesting by a long shot.
