We already know that Filipina women age gracefully and retain their beauty even up to their late 60's. Maybe it's because of good genes or probably since we are descendants of a multi-cultural race (something discussed way back in elementary) that has improved our women's genetic make up.
Knowing that Filipina beauty could last longer (the natural way) and Filipinas do take pride in looking younger than their age. Even after almost 7 years has gone by when specialized anti-aging creams were introduced, surprisingly there are only 2% of the female population that use an anti-aging product in the Philippines (unchanged since 2008). Good news for us men knowing that beauty is all natural, no add-ons, not so good for cosmetic companies though.
But for cosmetic companies the number may sound so dismal but it does suggest a great opportunity for growth in skin care brands which results in beauty brands aggressive efforts to educate consumers with innovations in anti-aging. Considering the Philippines as a market niche, there is quite a significant interest now of cosmetic products that promise to stop time or the aging process. It does not only cater to the female market but to the male market as well which is a way to recoup the slow reaction from the female population. I believe that men at times "out-man" women in being too vain with their looks, since men seem to age faster (mature later unfortunately in most cases) therefore it should be men who needs to be the main focus of cosmetic companies.
Cheaper, more cost-effective ways of maintaining ones radiance is now readily available that avoids the pain of going under the knife or having cosmetic surgery. The big question that comes to mind though if it is worth it? Aging is the natural process of things and with the onslaught of cheaper (knock-off) products from you-know-where, one can never be too sure. A natural Filipina beauty (minus enhancements) outplays even the most seasoned foreign beauties out there including those Latinas (well its the best comparison right?).
The quest for eternal youth is still beyond our grasps but with people willing to pay any price for immortality then man's goal to attain the fountain of youth.
