‘Rock Bottom Radio’’s Ancestry or Where the Hell Did You Guys Come From? Written by John M.

Every time I decide to go out of my cave and try to paint the town red, I bump into people smiling 10 meters away with an extended hand ready to meet mine into a pleasant handshake like a long-awaited friend. The first thing they say is: "Hi, John! I listen to your show all the time." Then comes: "Where's Ironman and the rest of The Bozos"?

My mental answer to these questions are: "I decided to give them to my mortician friends for an autopsy. Would you like to join them"? Or, "They're on a ledge somewhere thinking about how you turned out." But of course I do not blurt them out except when I’m with socialites just to throw their stuck-up snobby asses off. (I just thought this would be funny not true; how I wish this would be.)

Anyway...this week’s article will focus on the most frequent questions asked about Rock Bottom Radio. And yes it’s going to be in parts so I won’t have to think about next week’s article.

Q: Who came up with RBR?

A: Martha Tuason and the rest of the Rhythm Crew came up with the name Rock Bottom Radio. They had me as a host in mind but they had no idea, not even an iota of thought on how RBR would sound or be received by our listeners. After all, we cater to the AB market. It started out as a DJ contest ala American Idol. Imagine amateur DJs going at it and be scrutinized by pro jocks live on air. I thought it was funny to a certain extent till we ran out of contestants! Some of them almost made it. The prize? To be a Y101 DJ with a slot on our schedule. No one made it.

Q: Who comes up with the ideas and all the crazy stuff in RBR? What’s the objective?

A: John M. Couldn’t come up with stuff like this without the talent and the chemistry of The Bozos and vice versa. Believe it or not most of our shows are 80% on the spot and 20% coincidence and luck. That’s why the laughter is genuine and we do it four times a week. We've been around for half a decade now making people laugh almost on a daily basis. No one can be that funny for that long without a certain chemistry and teamwork. I guess somebody up there is laughing his ass off too! We're simply here to have fun and crack people up to pieces after a hard day’s work. All you have to do is listen and smile without prejudice. That is our humble objective and the feeling is just indescribable if we achieve our goal. To us, it’s something that’s better than an orgasm having an orgasm. Well, that’s it for now.
