I have often been urged to publish a cookbook because a lot of my friends and family think I have some very promising recipes and cooking skills that could be transformed to bucco bucks and passed down generations to come.
However I’ve never even began to think of how I would put one together.
That’s why I decided to do articles instead, on the storms I cook up for our Y101 Executive Committee Meetings and how my team has a say on our lip-smacking lunches!
Every Tuesday, we meet at my place to bring up all the week’s concerns, plans and visions. And every week in turn, I have concerns, plans and visions of what to cook for the big appetites of my now selective eaters.
I usually ask the team to grade the food from 1 to 10, 1 being sucky to 10 being outstanding! This way I can gage what to do more regularly for my Y101 family. As a result, I always get 8s, 9s and 10s, which in retrospect makes it harder on me because it seems they never dislike what I cook.
One thing’s for sure – creative minds need to be nourished by creative chows. This is how great concepts for Y101 are crafted during our meetings aside from our oversized bellies.
So what’s in the oven is always the question every week for the Y101 Always First executives!
