Rod Stewart has a reputation for being tight-fisted, but he was certainly generous a few days ago, buying drinks for a whole busload of fellow soccer fans in Scotland.
According the Scottish Sun, Rod was in the town of Paisley, having breakfast at a local hotel before going to see his favorite team, Celtic F.C., play at the local stadium. The paper reports that when a bus full of 40 fellow Celtic supporters pulled up, Rod happily bought drinks for everyone, and posed for photos as well. The hotel director told the paper, "Some of the staff almost fainted when they saw him but he was so generous and friendly. We were amazed when he got the drinks."
Rod fans may recall that in one of his biggest hits, 1977's "You're in My Heart (The Final Acclaim)," he mentions his favorite team when he sings, "You're Celtic, United/ But baby I've decided/You're the best team I've ever seen." "United" is Manchester United, his other favorite team.
