It is said that even negative publicity is good publicity!
And that’s exactly what’s happening with a very notorious track at a very inappropriate time of year – the ever-so-controversial Lady Gaga does it again with her second single from her album Born This Way. Released on Good Friday, a religious holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the song Judas has created tremendous discontentment to the one billion Christians around the world.
As the Queen of Divas releases the blasphemous new song, she has been accused of using Christian idolatry to give her already prosperous career an extra push. And in effect, it was a profane move and an irreverent shock tactic to blare out lyrics like: “Jesus is my virtue, Judas is the demon I cling to” – given that ironically, Judas was the disciple that betrayed Jesus to his death.
Although noted as a “demented remix of Bad Romance” (the music video of which symbolically depicted Gaga as a sex slave, relating its theme to modern-day decadence), it has already ratcheted the charts and certainly not been hindered by the angered Catholics placing the track at the website’s top-selling single in iTunes.
A Rhythm exclusive, Y101 Always First trails the progress of this contentious track leaked and released precisely during the Holy Week. So expect some authentic excitement when we bring you this new track.
Something new from Sade will certainly be a breakthrough for the talent with an outstandingly great voice after her prolonged silence! Maintaining the cool rhythmic beat and feel, Sade’s newest will hit that spot once again!
Watch out for New Kids On The Block’s Don’t Turn out the Lights!
