So, what else is fresh in the The Rhythm’s playlist this week?
Y101 Always First is unceasingly ready to release the most up-to the-minute music and as such, we never let our guard up – that’s why we’re known to be the station that all others mimic! It’s the trendsetter till cows come home in Philippine radio and we’re proud to swank that we have the latest releases in the song industry, sometimes even before they’re release by record labels! How’s that for being in vogue?
This is also why we keep our listeners informed with the new music we play – so that you in turn, can be the first to know our developments and boast of being at the height of style!
Here are three of our hottest items this week:
Did you know that Forbes Magazine crowned Lady Gaga as the most powerful person in entertainment today being the queen of all celebrities? Yes, Gaga outdoes mogul Oprah Winfrey! With her new marketing strategy oozing out amazing new singles every week before the official release of her album, who wouldn’t be? Hair is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta’s (Gaga) third one out of Born This Way and it’s being unleashed and aired right here on Y101, Cebu this week!
“One of my favorite songs on the album is called “Hair". It’s a really uptempo club record with a Bruce Springsteen vibe to it. I had Clarence Clemons come in from the E Street Band and play saxophone on the record. It has this KISS/Iron Maiden to the melody” says Gaga.
Another styling track unfolding this week is Fired Up (aka F**k the Rece$$ion) by Shaggy Featuring Pitbull. Jamaican-American reggae singer and rapper Shaggy returns with a brand new collaboration with Mexican worldwide sensation Pitbull. The dance track with a semi-Mexican beat from his brand new album Shaggy and Friends has yet to fall right on our listeners! We wonder if this one will fly – hmmm!!!
Now here’s one to really watch out for – iconic track Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode, which was originally featured in 1990, has been remixed by some of the dance world most paramount! They were one of the most popular electronic bands in the globe in the 80s and 90s – and today they release their pristine mint remix album, rehashing their own tracks with the collaboration of the best club DJs. Their first official single release – this track will rock!
More from Mike O as he releases the unsullied on the New Tracks Hour Mondays through Fridays from 5 – 6 at the cock-crow hours! Listen in on Y101 Always First!
