Every week, all and sundry including programmers from competing radio stations in the Philippines look forward to this write-up, and there’s only one reason everyone does so – it’s because it’s where the music move is at.
Who wouldn’t want to be the first to know? And that’s exactly what we give you right here at Y101 Always First when our guru Mike O sets you en vogue and teases you with not all, but a few of the tracks he’s had veiled.
So what’s the drift in the music world this week?
For one, our expert releases American singer-songwriter and musician Gavin Degraw’s brand new single Not over You from his album Sweeter co-written and produced by Ryan Tedder from One Republic. Degraw gained popularity on the premiere of One Tree Hill where his biggest hit I Don’t Wanna Be became its opening theme song.
Also new this week, we have none other than Limp Bizkit – remember that awesome remake of The Who’s Behind Blue Eyes? Well, they’re back with a spanking new single Shot Gun, fresh out of their sixth album Gold Cobra due out this month. After going hiatus for six long years they’re back with a big bang and this certified rock hit will in next to no time make a kill!
And in addition to Mike O’s fabulous set of hot rods this week, another Ibiza anthem with great basslines is heading your way from Chicane – the track: Going Deep! One of the most influential electronic dance acts for two decades now, British songwriter and producer Nick Bracegirdle (guise of Chicane) lets loose this chill-out dance track to rule the bop world once again! “Chicane music is not bound by a certain genre” he claims in a statement made during its premiere last April. “It is a blend of 90s retro disco, rap in a modern house, trance package.” Featuring British rapper Aggi Dukes, it is expected to hit the charts globally big time!
Don’t miss out on taking it to the forefront! Be the first to identify what’s the impulse in music trend and check-in on the early hours – it’s there for you every first light from 5 AM to 6 AM. There’s no reason for you to be left behind in the game here at The Rhythm with The New Tracks Hour!
