Our programming guru Mike O only unveils three of his new releases a week for us to salivate on. But even then, we’re blessed to be enlightened with something because unlike other stations that copy and paste their playlist from Y101’s, they deliver absolutely nothing (new that is)!!!
Now let’s spot what our music consigliore has in store for us today!
Here’s something cute from the Disney Channel! Coming our way is the latest pop rock sensation Allstar Weekend with a captivating youthful song Not Your Birthday. It is the first track from their debut album Suddenly Yours, which the group will be promoting on their album-titled tour this fall. Featured in a 2011 American teen Film The Prom, the San Diego, California band consisting of lead singer Zach Porter, lead guitarist Nathan Darmody, bassist Cameron Quiseng, and drummer Michael Martinez is gaining incredible publicity and is seemingly on the way to fame!
With an amazing comeback since her Fleetwood Mac days, former lead singer and living legend Stevie Nicks is making waves on the Billboard charts as she endeavors on solo. Her song Secret Love from her new album released last May is startling! It was originally written by Nicks as a demo for the Rumours album in 1976 but did not make the cut. Today, this first single from her seventh studio album In Your Dreams is promising to sky rocket!
One blistering figure that’s thumping on the charts is singer, songwriter, club DJ and model Sophie Ellis-Bextor as she reveals her British No. 1 dance hit Starlight. Released last June as the second single from her fourth album Make a Scene which has not been too successful so far, the outstandingly sexy track is gaining respect within the world of pop. Described by Ellis-Bextor as “a perfect chilled dance anthem that is instantly catchy with a soft but edgy beat” who’s to say it won’t fly? “It is a track that can easily take you from sun lounger by day to nightclub by evening and is the perfect summer anthem” she continues on.
