Cee-Lo Green makes it to his target spot – No.1! Forget You aka F__k You reigns the kingdom of Rick Dees this week!
After waiting good-naturedly for Lady Gaga’s three-week scurry with Born This Way to lose steam, and until Her Majesty graciously renounced her position as Queen of the Weekly Top 40, Green finally attained his goal.
Being extremely popular in the R&B scene, this Grammy-Award-winning track for Best Urban/Alternative Performance from his third studio album, The Lady Killer, looks like another promising multi-conqueror in the charts.
Could the “sunny as a '60s Motown hit and as expletive-laden as an early Eminem song” continue to stay on top? Y101 predicts it could remain at No.1 this week as it rapidly crosses the pop charts. However, it will definitely not stay on the acme for a lengthy stretch!
On the other hand, Barbadian artist Rihanna on second place is anxiously waiting for her track to finally make a breakthrough to achieve the ace position. And she just might happen to do so this week!
S & M, her fourth single coming from her fifth album Loud has rapidly made it up the charts. So why not No.1? A catchy Eurodance, electro, dance-pop track talking about her pleasures and bedroom fantasies – well, duhhh! – can only be more scorching than boiling hot!
Will she or will she not be this week’s smack?
Katy Perry will indisputably make a push this week as the Pop Princess continues to soar up the charts with E.T. (some hella awesome graphics on the video, by the way – perhaps even better than Lady Gaga’s Born This Way!). As she releases those hits from her latest album Teenage Dream, the enchanting American recording artist is giving all the divas a run for their money!
When and if the track makes it to the pinnacle, this will be the fourth crown from her third studio album released in 2010 – an amazing addition to Billboard’s chart history!
A sure shot this week: One of Hollywood’s infamous MILFs, J Lo with I'm Into You! Now on her second single out of her upcoming seventh album, Love? Jennifer Lopez knocks on Rick Dees’ door with this more than probable new entry into the countdown.
A song featuring double entendre lyrics about losing a lover, this stallion could be the numero uno of the year! The mid-tempo island-flavored exotic-sounding pop tune will be off the hook the moment it drops! And together with Lopez’s elite position as one of American Idol’s judges this last season her renewed success will go fresh into the map.
More excitement on Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 as we anticipate the countdown this afternoon. Don’t lose out!
The countdown of the week’s chart toppers on the Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 is at 2 PM-6 PM on Sundays with replays on Tuesdays 8 PM – 12 midnight only here at Y101 Always First.
