When we were forecasting that Ke$ha could be a hot record-breaker with her electro pop track Blow, Katy Perry hung on to her (now) three-week reign with the epic E.T. as it continues to gain popularity worldwide.
And while Ke$ha dropped down three spots to No. 5, Black Eyed Peas ascended to runner-up with Just Can’t Get Enough. Now the question is: will Perry be a mover again or will Fergie achieve chart-topper this week?
Amazingly, this summer’s battle among divas is getting more electrifying as more prima donnas join the bandwagon of hot sellers. For one, we have the Tottenham, London-born Adele’s Rolling in the Deep screeching for winner; then we have Britney Spears’ energy coming in extremely strong with Till the World Ends aside from Fergie who’s already knocking on heaven’s door!
Not to mention that a sure shot entering the countdown very soon is another ace Rihanna track California King Bed, a “wrenching ballad” from her fifth album Loud which we foresee will make it to the No. 1 spot in next to no time.
Lady Gaga too has her third single from Born This Way all cued up to enter the countdown. The song: The Edge of Glory; the genre: electro rock and synthopop. In contrast to her customary style in the album inspired by 80s and 90s pop and jazz, now she tries upbeat and “anthemic” rock and pop with this track.
