If there’s a countdown that is full of exhilaration with a pin-up that takes it all the way down with authority, it’s Rick Dees’ Weekly Top 40! Nothing can be more thrilling than listening to that powerful voice deliver what’s hot in music from the most commanding land of entertainment, USA!

Last week it was Adele at No. 1 for two weeks in a row with Rolling in the Deep. Will she continue to top the charts for a triple shot? After her grand entrance into the Billboard top 20 rock tracks, it wouldn’t be surprising to see her there again although with Bruno Mars positioned at No. 2 waiting to take the lead, it’s hard to say who’ll be taking the crown this week! The Lazy Song is a very appropriate summer tune geared up to sweep the Northern Hemisphere these coming months.

On the other hand, it’s looking like the divas won’t be making it to the desired slot as Britney Spears’ Til the World Ends and J Lo Featuring Pitbull’s Get on the Floor slowly start their descent on the chart.

While Tinie Tempah Featuring Eric Turner’s Written in the Stars appears to be going nowhere jammed at No. 5, Pitbull Featuring Ne-yo made a 5 point move up to No.6, capturing the music market with Give Me Everything (Tonight). An amazing second single from the American rapper’s sixth upcoming album Planet Pit, anticipate this track to soar up the charts!

Expected to dive this week are Ke$ha’s Blow and The Script’s For the First Time at Nos. 7 and 8 respectively, in spite of their strong presence in the countdown. A very promising track from Lady Gaga though, is sure to cross the threshold to the top slots in Rick’s domain. The predictable Edge of Glory is already a sizzling hot hit around the globe so we can foresee it rapidly escalating to No. 1

And a sure shot that can burn the chart in next to no time is Nicole Scherzinger’s Right There. A hot request on Y101 ever since it was unleashed two months ago on the playlist, we predict this one will fly!
