There’s only one radio station to lock into if you wanna hear what’s hot in the US, and there’s only one authority that can give it to you straight from the core of entertainment. Here we’re talking about Rick Dees on the Weekly Top 40 at Y101 Always First! Last week, we had Adele place at No. 1 for the third week in a row with her ever-so-popular track Rolling in the Deep. Are we about to experience a phenomenon if she hits that first-class seat again today making a cuadro on America’s most respected countdown?
Right behind the British prima donna is the half-Pinoy Hawaiian-born deity Bruno Mars who has come up with the perfect summer melody The Lazy Song just in time to make a bolt down as the warmest season of the year arrives in the northern worlds!
At No. 3 we have Pitbull Featuring Ne-Yo also coming in strong with the already vastly accepted song Give Me Everything which has peaked at the Billboard Hot 100 charts reaching No. 2 and has made it to No. 1 in Canada and the UK. Popular in the R&B and hip hop club scene, it made a push to the top five slots last week and who knows? It just might make another leap in this afternoon’s countdown!
So with this scenario, it’s really tough to speculate on who’ll be next on the Dees throne.
Two tracks that are on fire and will without doubt be toss-offs shortly are Lupe Fiasco’s The Show Must Go On and Lady Gaga’s Edge of Glory. At Nos. 7 and 8 respectively on last week’s countdown, anticipate them moving up the charts this week. On the other hand, it’s all downhill now for Britney Spears, J Lo Featuring Pitbull and Tinie Tempah Featuring Eric Turner, not to mention Ke$ha. Therefore it’s time to let some newcomers hit the spots!
Expected to return to the countdown with a track that’s long overdue is Maroon 5. Never Gonna Leave This Bed debuted on Y101 last year and has been on demand in Cebu – now let’s see how it does on The Rick Dees Weekly Top 40!
A sure shot: Beyonce’s Best I Never Had, the second single out of her new 2011 album!
Stay stuck to hear what the drift in America is. There’s nothing like being connected with music fashion and style and there’s only one place to be apropos with the trend – it’s right here on Y101 Always First with Rick Dees!
