 What’s for sure is that American goddess Katy Perry’s burning single E.T. has hit up every pop chart known to mankind and has established her signature as prima donna on all countdowns – at least for now – except for WT 20.
Where Y101’s exclusive house track Disappear hoards the premier slot for 6 consecutive weeks, the lioness has yet to conquer the numero uno post with her electronic-pop-hip hop ballad that’s talks about “falling in love with a foreigner” using extraterrestrial metaphors to express her desires.
Will the diva make it to No.1 this week?
Released as the third promotional single but later announced as the fourth out of Perry’s third studio album Teenage Dream, this incredibly powerful track has all the elements to get there. Thus, carrying all the weight it needs to outstand, chances are it will be the chart-topper for this week or so we recon!
Another top-selling track is Bruno Mar’s Lazy Song, but does it have enough oomph to be a best-seller? We’ll see what happens to the Hawaiian anthem when Bryan G brings us the countdown today.
Last week, legendary Britney Spears’ uptempo dance-pop and electronic song Till the World Ends from this second single out of her seventh album, Femme Fatale went down two slots to No. 7. Is there any way that, with its sizzling bass-lines, mind-blowing chorus and worldwide popularity, this track can influence the WT 20 countdown to regain some strength and bring it back up the chart?
Two tracks that are sounding real sweet: If You Ever Come Back by The Script soaring up to No. 9 and Written in the Stars by Tinie Tempah Featuring Eric Turner. Watch out for these potential knock-outs!
One track that’s definitely coming in broad-shouldered: Rolling in the Deep by Adelle which crossed the threshold real feisty at No. 10 as the hotshot debut of the week and the highest recorded entry to the countdown in the history of WT 20!
But the hot pop-teen ballad you really need to keep your eyes on belongs to Canadian teeny-boppers’ idol Justin Bieber Featuring Flatts. That Should Be Me is a track out of his first album, My World 2.0, that’s creating a lot of clatter and is already in the Billboard Top 100. And after his presence in Manila a few days ago, his already surmounted popularity will continue to scale.
