Moving on after a wild week on radio, here’s what’s hot this week on Cebu’s most coveted countdown The Weekly Top 20!
Last we heard, Adele was on fire with Rolling in the Deep, and three weeks of glory on the charts may not happen to be enough for the talented English top-notch singer. After her album 21’s commercial success and the popularity of her song featuring “martial beats, pounding piano keys and chanting backing singers”, she’s determined to go for the homerun to triumph the fourth week with her leading track.
At No. 2, Justin Bieber Featuring Rascal Flatts’ run of the mill ballad has absolutely no fight against the powerful vocals of the sovereign entity’s bluesy pop tune (or so we believe here at Y101). We’re expecting That Should Be Me to nose-dive big time!
Despite the rapid climb up the Y101 charts, Taio Cruz’s track Telling the World at No. 3 in WT 20’s list doesn’t seem to be very promising either. Even if the song gained recognition because it was featured as the main theme song of Rio: The Movie, it didn’t create much enthusiasm among Cebu listeners.
On the other hand, Chingy’s Superhero seems to be a potential hip hop authority as it rockets up the charts arriving at No. 5 on its third week. Will St. Louis rapper’s first single out of his fifth studio album No Risk No Reward have a significant spot in this week’s countdown?
And what else is in the making? We foresee Nicki Minaj’s Super Bass coming in strong to join the top slots of the chart. Another commanding track from Pink, Heart Break Down is also probable to place this week. Rihanna’s California King Bed is definitely making a killing all over the globe and will surely be a champ almost immediately.
