Once again DJ Snake Featuring Bipolar Sunshine rocks Cebu with the phenomenal track Middle this week!
The Algerian French EDM magnate and one of the most recognized novel record producers and rapper continues to rip up Y101's Weekly Top 20 chart with the teaser track he released last October. It's nothing bewildering as this nifty Grammy-nominated DJ William Sami Etienn Grigahcine who goes by his stage name DJ Snake remains to be the most innovative superpower of dancefloor mixes for now.
Snake's career kicked off when in 2011, he produced Lady Gaga's album Born This Way which earnt him a Grammy-nomination for Album Of The Year. He also remixed Kanye West's New Slaves, Aluna George's You Know You Like It, Major Lazer's Bubble Butt and collaborated with numerous artists like Skrillex.
However, his major switch on happened in December of 2013, when Turn Down For What crossed the threshold to the top 10 of the Billboard Dance/Electronic chart, progressed to entering into the top 5 by January of 2014 and ultimately reached the Billboard Top 100s in April which certified the song to be a platinum feat.
Among his other trophies are Low Down, You Know You Like It and his unprecedented collaboration with Major Lazer featuring MØ with his ultimate breakthrough track Lean On released last March 2015, which landed him at Number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100s and won him placements in numerous other charts.
Presently, Middle is creeping up the Hot 100s at Number 57 from last week's Number 70 and I'm crazy-itching to see how fast it'll make its way up. Knowing the meticulous Frenchman, he'll hit the stopper in no time!
At Number 2, we have Against The Current which may well be our next frontrunner as I mentioned last week with their single Outsiders, Twenty One Pilots' Stressed Out also jotting for the post with a 6-point jump to Number 3, Zara Larrson with Lush Life up a notch at Number 4 and the song Me, Myself And I by G-Easy Featuring Bebe Rexha which took a gigantic 8-spot leap to Number 5.
This makes it quite an interesting scenario for next week's countdown as we have some key players battling it out for Number 1. We do have The Pilots at Number 3 in the Billboard Hot 100s after all, so they're proving to be quite a threat. Likewise, G-Easy is at Number 7 and rising, and even if there are no signs of the Against The Current or Larrson in the 100s, Cebu has voted them in at the end of the day!
I wonder what Mike Solo has to say about this bizarre situation! The countdown has been going outright berserk lately – Selena Gomez is suddenly up 10 slots with Hands To Myself at Number 7 now, Flo Rida's down 5 and Shawn Mendez is almost out of the catalogue! What's more, Justin Bieber Featuring Halsey, DNCE and Charlie Puth are all entirely out of the countdown – crazy indeed!
