The American emo rock band pulled out a Radiohead and broke the internet. Here are some of the netizens and celebrity fans’ reactions to MCR’s potential reunion.
In March 2013, the band My Chemical Romance announced their break-up by putting up a message on their website thanking the fans for the support. However, it seems like they’re coming back when the band posted a video clip of a black flag, a symbol of the band, flying in the wind yesterday. At the end of the clip, the date “9/23/16” appears.
Right now, nobody knows what it means. Fans speculate that they might be reforming, or a new album will be out. Some have even said that it might just be the date for a compilation album release in line with the 10th anniversary of their third studio album The Black Parade. While nobody is sure what it means, it didn’t stop fans across social media to express their excitement about the vague post.
One Twitter user speaks out about his frustration for having already accepted the band’s breakup for 3 years.
I just started to accept that my chemical romace broke up and now THIS

And one user noticed that the band deleted their break-up post from many years ago.

The announcement made every MCR fan very excited.
Bry would even be willing to put on his emo face back on.
If My Chemical Romance really are coming back I'm doubling the thickness of my eyeliner and disowning my parents

Even famous musicians are shocked and excited about the announcement. Escape the Fate’s Robert Ortiz expressed his fandom.

Paramore’s Hayley Williams was also confused.
