Have You Heard Nicki Minaj’s New Song Yet? Listen to ‘The Pinkprint Freestyle’ Here
Nicki Minaj fans are surprised to find out the rapper dropped a new song -- titled "The Pinkprint Freestyle" -- out of nowhere last Sunday on SoundCloud.
The nearly six-minute track finds Minaj delivering rapid-fire verses over the beat of Young M.A.'s Ooouuu and later includes parts of M.I.A.’s hit Paper Planes. She begins the song by giving a shout-out to Lil Wayne before referencing Harambe the gorilla and comparing herself to Jay Z.
“It’s the female Jay,” she raps. “I’m a brand according to what retail say/ Yeah, my tours be selling out on pre-sale day/ plus I got the title ‘Queen,’ press replay.”
Fans haven’t heard new music from Nicki Minaj since her 2014 album, The Pinkprint, which featured the hit Anaconda. She recently appeared in Ariana Grande’s Side to Side video and performed the song alongside the pop singer on the 2016 MTV VMAs a few weeks ago.
