Kanye West has better odds of becoming the next president of the United States than Donald Trump did at the start of his campaign.
The rapper announced his intention to run for high office earlier this year at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.
He later reiterated his plans in an interview on BBC Radio 1, saying: “When I talk about the idea of being president, I’m not saying I have any political views. I don’t have views on politics, I just have a view on humanity, on people, on the truth. If there is anything that I can do with my time and my day, to somehow make a difference while I’m alive, I’m going to try to do it.”
Following the news of Trump’s victory, many took to Twitter to throw their support behind Kanye’s campaign.
“There is only one man who can save us now,” one Twitter user wrote beneath a cartoon of West wearing an Adidas suit while sitting in the Oval Office.
“The only hope now is #kanye2020” wrote another.
