According to their website, the Pantone Color Institute “makes the most informed decisions about color for brands or products.” Whether it is color trend forecasting, brand color development, custom color solutions, or product palette selection, the Pantone Color Institute can “guide you through the development of a color strategy that fits your company’s unique needs.”
This week, they have announced a new shade of purple and called it Love Symbol #2, in honor of the late musician Prince.
Throughout Prince’s career, he became indelibly associated with the color Purple, from his album and 1984 film, Purple Rain, to his wardrobe and musical instruments. And Pantone saw fit to honor the music legend by memorializing the distinct shade after him.
