This Low Carb Diet Plan Really Works!

Inspiration can come from the most mundane situation. All it took was a simple wish from his youngest son Zachy for his father to be there, as he grew old. That statement was enough to compel Icky to take a long and hard look at himself and decide that if he wanted to be able to live a longer and more fruitful life he was going to have to lose weight and get in shape.

Now this was no easy feat because he needed to make a complete lifestyle change. This meant a totally new and very restricting diet called the Ketogenic Diet. It’s a low carb, medium protein, and high fat diet; which is popular in the states. That means staying away from rice, bread, pasta, and sugar-- and sounds like pure torture!

Ultimately this radical change has paid off, leaving him 45 pounds lighter along with his wife who lost a whopping 34 pounds! Proving to all of us that it can be done, all it takes is strong dedication and perseverance. There will always be days where you want to give up and indulge, so it’s important to have a strong support system to keep you on the right path during those trying times.

We should all take this as a cue to self reflect and find new ways to change ourselves and lead healthier lives. There is always an opportunity to change, so regardless of failed attempts in the past we should always make the effort to try again. It doesn’t mean we have to completely change our diets and lives like Icky, but it does mean adding limits and restrictions on unhealthy food and becoming more active and exercising regularly so we can live longer and have a better quality of life with our loved ones.
