John M’s words of wisdom about the two.

Mar Roxas and Mayor Duterte are at it again. This week presidential candidate Manuel “Mar” Roxas challenged Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to a fistfight, Mayor Duterte in response challenged “Mar” to a gun duel. Will this ridiculousness and political mudslinging ever stop? We asked John M if he wanted to expound on these two fighters.

John M, being the professional sports announcer for many other events here in Y101 says that they are good for about 4-6 rounds, they’re amateurs in this competition and we could see an early finish for either one. “Duterte will slap mar roxas during a chaotic weigh in” John M Predicts.

But on a more serious note though, we asked John M, who do you think started this whole ordeal?

“Well it doesn’t matter who started it, the thing is they are getting the attention they both want.” John M answers. “On one hand you have Mar Roxas who is trying to show the whole nation that he can step up to a bully, and on another you have a cowboy who is gaining popularity through his reckless actions.” It sounds all too familiar, think Donald Trump and look how he is surging in the polls in the United States, and how he wants to lockdown on Muslim immigration, etc..

“But the point is you can never fully eradicate crime.” John M critics. “Because if you have zero tolerance for crime you can and will be labeled as a dictator” which is exactly the direction Duterte seems to be going. Despite all the unprofessional behavior, Duterte privately commissioned polls from a Davao based supporter now show him as leading the presidential race.
