We had a web meeting when Veronica screamed so loud and ran away from the office. We were confused why, but when we saw the reason, we understood—Carlow came in bringing a telescope.

She finally has a telescope and it is no ordinary telescope—it’s something that can see the stars, and other planets. I guess I would be as excited as her if I see that. Suddenly, the meeting was kind of forgotten, and everyone started observing the telescope. We did get to finish the meeting though. (Haha)

It was too bad that I had to leave when they started setting it up. It was a nice scene!  Imagine three busy people by the window, with a yellow-ish background since the sun was setting, and the building of UC was reflecting it. It was like a scene from a movie. As I left, the last I saw were these: Veronica being impatient, Carlow slowly assembling the telescope, and Tonton, from the production team, assisting.

Well, I talked to Veronica 2 days later, and she said the telescope has been doing an awesome job. They are just waiting for the sky to clear up in order to see the planets (it has been cloudy lately), and they are also planning to bring it to a spot where there isn’t any light pollution which can interfere with their observation. 

Veronica shares that she refers her telescope as “her” since they named it Berenices, after her favourite galaxy: Coma Berenices, or better known as the Black/Evil Eye Galaxy, also named after Berenice II of Egypt, which brings her back to her archaeological roots.

Looks like someone’s going to have fun for a really long time!
