Reports say that the Malaysian government is doing an “internal review”?
Disney’s new live action film Beauty and the Beast will be released in theaters on March 17. Y101 is giving away free tickets for you to see the movie this March 16 at Robinsons Galleria Movieworld.
However, the movie’s release date in Malaysia is reportedly being postponed as the film is undergoing “internal review”.
A spokesperson for Disney’s distributor in Malaysia reported that “the movie release date has been postponed and we are reviewing its new release date internally” but did not reveal any more details.
As of now, there aren’t any information of when the new release date is going to be or when it will be announced. The film has also been removed from local cinema listings.
Meanwhile, Beauty And The Beast caused controversy in Russia recently due to one of its characters being gay – a first for a Disney movie. That led Russia to consider banning the film, saying it goes against the country’s anti-gay policy.
