Week 18 at the Sunset Cruise was simply paralyzing – the gorgeous weather in the islands complimented by the unbelievable tracks and yesterday’s gorgeous sunset all rustled up another great performance hosted by Carlow. Crafted by Gymm Boy Spinner’s wide selection of amazing house mixes, the Cruise did it again – and I have to confess, I can never get enough of this show!

I’d like to give Shapeshifters a standing ovation for their first single The Chase featuring Kisch as the house music production duo from London feature a walloping bassline full vol up to the max with powerfully driven drums perfectly pulsating for the ultimate backdrop to Kisch’s vocals. Shape:UK (as they’re known in the United States) is best known for their dance-pop, disco house and techno, but this drum and bass release is a bomb!

Yet another noteworthy track featured last sunset that deserves a round of applause was I Had This Thing by the Norwegian electronic music duo Royksopp. Taken out of their fifth and (so called) final album The Inevitable End, the exceptional downtempo ambient synthpop received positive reviews from music critics and I can only concur with their evaluation. It’s one of those songs that mesmerizes as you get lost inside it. Truly exceptional music which could have easily been misjudged as an Armin van Buuren!

Rooms by American electronic music producer Audien was an amazing song as well. Within the field of progressive house and trance music, he is ranked as one of the better DJs and has released many singles and remixes for record labels. It’s no wonder this one’s a fave
