The buzz that’s been going around at the Y101 studios for a few weeks is no longer gossip – Sunset Cruise has been extended to a two hour chill out and beach house music session and true to fact, it’s finally fleshed out! How exciting is that?
The seamless show has had nothing but positive reviews and outcry for more of those lounge mixes. Accompanying Sunday sunsets with picture-perfect driving forces hosted by Carlow, courtesy of Gymm Boy Spinner’s wide-range collection of music, the Cruise will now be on from 6PM to 8PM every Sunday.
Last night we had some breathtaking tracks from the pop, beach house and alternative-indie genres.
Among the notable masterpieces, we had the perfect summer song Fade by New York-based house music producing duo Solu Music Featuring KimBlee with a 2015 HK Ibiza remix of the 2001 version of the track. How’s that for an all-time beach house juggernaut?
Another significant track which is currently on our pop playlist is Shine from the British electronica trio Years & Years, released last July 5 as their fifth single from their debut album Communion. Btw, congratulations to the winner who gave us the right answer to this song!
British rock band Mumford & Sons’ Believe also impacted the show with an alternative twist. The song was released on March 9 of this year, receiving compliments from music critics for its originality and weighty synthetic sounds. It served as the lead single to their third studio album Wilder Mind.
