Coffee is a good nap partner.

Everyone in Y101Fm is into coffee. You never see a day where a cup of coffee is absent! So this triggered me to write about coffee, and also, Veronica shared to me an article about coffee, which gives me more reasons to write about it. The article was talking about how coffee can power up your power naps. Interesting, huh?

Studies have shown that drinking a cup of coffee just before a nap will help you be more alert by the time you wake up, from the nap compared to drinking coffee and not napping at all. Why? It is because the caffeine’s effect will peak 30 minutes after drinking the cup—that means when you drink before a 30 min nap, you will be up and going by the time you wake up. 

Why stronger? Because adenosine, a chemical compound which induces drowsiness, doesn’t have to cause caffeine problems anymore since you already had a nap, which means that caffeine has nothing to compete with. It is an all-out thing.

If you plan on using caffeine to boost your naps, make sure you do not drink too much as it may disturb your sleep cycles. Caffeine is notorious for inducing insomnia, and you don’t want that.
